3DS Circle Pad Pro - EB Games Exclusive!
This is a great accessory. Not only does it give you an extra analog slider and 2 extra shoulder buttons, the shape makes it comfortable even after hours of blasting enemy soldiers. However, the fact that only a few games support it right now does affect the value of this accessory a bit (but only slightly). But if you have the games it supports, then it's a must.
A must have for gamers
I mainly bought this after reading online that the first batch is going to be a limited run. Resident Evil Revelations and Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater are released a couple of weeks apart, and I really wanted this for MGS. Lastly, I bought if for comfort and it knocks the ball out of the park in this area.
After long sessions on the 3DS and I get hand cramps and the CPP is light, and fits comfortably in your hands. I gave this a 9 because when you go into sleep mode in Resident Evil, you have to go back into options and re-enable CPP everytime.I'm guessing the IR port in the back of the 3DS is what's used to communicate with the CPP and that's the reason why. It's really not a big deal, but it's a niggling point none the less.
If you have Revelations, or are planning to get MGS 3D, Kingdom Hearts or Kid Icarus, go out and buy the CPP. It makes the gaming experience that much more comfortable and better with the second analog stick.
An add-on actually worth getting
This accessory is definitely worth the purchase. I decided to buy it after trying out Resident Evil Revelations and realizing it would probably benefit from a second circle pad. You can certainly make do without, but I find this makes it way easier to maneuver around and the gameplay more enjoyable (the circle pad is identical to the 3DS'). It's simple to set-up and use, and the design is comfortable enough that it feels quite natural to hold in your hands. Basically having this feature is what Nintendo should have built into the 3DS to begin with. I hope more games will include support for this control option.
