It's way better!!!
Had a regular 3DS, sold it on Kijiji to buy this. Bought it and love it. Play it all the time, great for Zelda and DLC!!!! Way better then that tiny old screen!!! Don't buy the regular!

Great buy, even better if u dont own a 3ds
Considering for an extra 40 bucks you get a 90% bigger screen, Btter battery life, a 4gb sd card instead of 2 and 1:1 aspect ratio for ds games this is a must buy for dds users. Only negative thing i can think of is that resolution on the screen is the same as the 3ds but with all the features it more than makes up for it.

Agreed- just another excuse for a new system
If you're going to buy a 3DS, get an original one. The 3DS XL is bulky and hideous. It's the exact same resolution as the 3DS and the games will look pixelated. The A/B/X/Y and the D-Pad are the same size as the original, and the other switches/buttons are different and ugly. You may as well save $30 and get something more practical.

A great buy if you do not already have a 3DS.
The 3DS XL is better in nearly every way compared the original 3DS? My reasoning? The screen is 90% larger then the original screen, which is better on your eyes (the little screen strains your eyes), it feels more comfortable in your hands, the battery life is increased by 86%, and it comes with a 4 GB SD card as opposed to a 2 GB SD card with the original 3DS. One of the only flaws it might have is the weight, which is increased by 46%, but isn't really a big deal, if you ask me. Unlike the DSi XL, the screen will not look as pixelated, as it will be the same as the 3DS screen, only larger. The circle pad may also be larger. Finally, my last reason the 3DS XL looks great is because the cover of the 3DS is more plastic, and not the kind of cover that's shiny, and smudges easily. Oh, and not to mention, the stylus is back in the usual spot, and not in the back of the 3DS XL, like the original 3DS.

buy it if you d'ont have a 3ds
To be honest, you should buy it if you d'ont have a 3ds.it's just like the ipad 2. it's a simple upgrade and you have a bit more money. i'll maybe bundled with new super mario bros 2. you can buy it if you want but it's ok if you d'ont.

Nintendo's excuse for a new game system
This is plain sad, this is Nintendo's excuse for a new game system. why would they do this. I know Sony IS A LOT BETTER AND THAT NINTENDO ISN"T GETTING AS MUCH PROFITS AS IT USED TO BUT REALLY. You waste your freakin time to make a game system that is exactly the same as the last game system you made but bigger. The whole point of a game system is for it to be small not huge. Why would nintendo make this anyways the only difference between a 3DS and a 3DS XL is that its bigger and the physical form is different. I thank the previous reviewers for saying that this sucks and is a watse of time and precious money. Please buy a PS vita instead cause it's actually better than this (Fact not opinion) and it actually has twice the functions and features than the 3DS has and it has a better and bigger variety of games and its made by Sony which is in my opinion the best electronics manufacturer in the world. Trust me I own one. Take this from me. I PROMISE YOU IF YOU BUY A VITA YOU WONT REGRET IT.

yay! l was right! l predited there would be a 3ds xl and l was right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! actually l just read it online. still, l dont like 3ds's.

Don't Buy - It's a waste
I suggest you do not buy this product because well, it's a waste of money for a 3DS! I know it's most antisipated, and it's new, but seriously, you could buy a normal sized 3DS with a 3DS game for the same price of $199.99. I find that a better deal.Instead of getting a huge 3DS with all the features + downloads for $199.99, you could get a normal sized 3DS with a game with all the features + downloads for the same price. Just my opinion!
