Assassin's Creed 2
Nice game, with few flaws
Assasin's Creed 2 is a great game with a great storyline and action. The graphics are also very good. Although the downside are the controls, yeah sure when doing regular climbing it's more than adequate (and even then, more than once, Ezio did something I did not intend to do at all), but when swords and axes start swinging, they really can get in the way. In the end, AC2 is indeed a good game that is worth checking out, it is also where you should start if you wish to get into the newer titles (AC2: Brotherhood and AC2: Revelations)
Improves on the sequel in every way.
Assassin's Creed II is one of the best games I have played, ever. The main problem that people had with the first game that it was too repetitive. Put your worries to rest. The problem about the first one has been addressed. Once you start playing, the only thing that will make you stop is either the lack of sleep or food. Challenge - Just right. The game is not too hard. It is neither too easy. For the first couple of missions it clearly explains the basic controls. As you progress, it will show you the new features the game has to offer. So, veterans of the series will feel right at home. The game is challenging, but it isn't too hard to make you lose interest. Controls - Free-running on rooftops is more fun than it is than the first one. The controls are tight and responsive. The only bad thing I say about the controls (maybe it is my fault too) is that they could be just a tad bit accurate. Example: I was climbing on a wall and I could reach the top of the roof, I point my analog stick at a brick sticking out of the wall and ending up jumping away from the wall which resulted in falling six stories to my death. Other than that, the game's controls are very good. Graphics - AC ll is one of the most beautiful games I ever seen. The cities have so much detail no matter where you are looking. The streets, canals, walls, roof, countryside just look amazing. The characters look a little weird to me and their facial animations could be improved, but now I'm just nitpicking. Animations are fluid and natural. Interface - The menus are designed very well so you won't get confused at all. During gameplay, there is a little bit of a change. If you are being chased or you are hiding, it is different from the original. The color that is surrounded the map lets you know what your status is. It will take a little bit to get used to, but I prefer it to the original. Sound - This is where this game really shines. It sounds like you are in a city. It feels alive. You hear vendors yelling, water flowing, guards yelling. It sounds very realistic. Storyline - The story is very compelling. It will keep you interested to the very end. Lots of twists and turns keep you guessing. The story picks up at the exact same moment the first game ends. All in all, AC ll did not disappoint me. It is not a perfect game, but I will playing it for a long time to come. I was very impressed. If you enjoyed the first one, you will love the second one.
