Not impressed
I'm not impressed by this game. Why do they have American and Japanese cars in a racing game, THEY SUCK. They should put more European cars Which are the best cars in the world (Fact not opinion). My biggest issue with this game is that the steering SUCKS. I'd rather play the Prologue one cause it's a lot better.

Get a driving wheel.
With a driving or racing wheel, your progress will increase more than if you just stay with a reg. controller. If you have a drivers licence and you are aware of the forces created when you turn a corner too fast or you hold the brake peddle down too hard on a wet surface, you will see that this game is as close to the real thing as it gets. The picture speaks for its' self. When you're driving an object that almost ways a ton you have to learn to control your speed, just like in the real world. Some cars are not available until you have reached a certain level. Head to head is always lots of fun. Enjoy!

Definitely Fun!
I've owned this game since launch and played it religiously up untill a few months ago. The game play and customization for the cars is what really makes this game great! The handling with the logitech wheel give a good feel and makes you feel your really there. There are only a few things that I believe it is slightly lacking, the first being the opponent AI, and secondly the sound of the cars. All and all its worth giving a shot if you ever played the old games.

Gran Turismo 5
After waiting for over 3 yrs for this game and pre ordering it,I was dissaspointed by the lack of customizations on the cars. Not to mention most of the cars available were garbage cars with 60hp or so expensive u have to do the same race over and over and over just to get enough money to afford something decent. for example the F1 races were way too expensive to get into 20 million for a decent car. Overall very dissapointed.Waited far too long for this level of gameplay

Great!!!
I just got a PS3 last week and GT5 was my first game, racing games were always my favorite genre. when I poped the disc in I was amazed how the graphics look in HD, the controls were a little hard for me because I just got a new system but for PS3 owners shouldn't be a problem. I have do also have a Xbox 360 and I also have Forza 3 that was my only racing game. In my opinion I kinda of liked GT5 more just because of the more variety of cars and different modes in your career. But although they are still good racing games. I recommend anyone this game, even for those people who don't like racing genres GT5 will make you love em.

A Piece of Art
Gran Turismo 5 does not feel like simply a game. If we are speaking of a racing game, it would be something like Need for Speed. Gran Turismo 5 takes its experience beyond simply gaming but a "real driving simulator". Yes, I agree, the damage system isn't so perfect, and the shadows of the cars aren't so real-like. Maybe you believe this is not what a 5-year product should look like. But in fact, you have to believe that the team behind of this product did put hard work for those realistic car models. However this game is meant for people who enjoy the car collections and life-like expereience of driving. Gran Turismo 5 allows the collectors to collect cars they like. These gamers proboly yet don't have the chance to collect massive cars in real life, but they may complete part of their dream in Gran Turismo 5. It's not a hardcore game. It is a game meant to played in a slow pace. Gran Turismo 5 is an art. It's another level of racing game experience. EA's statement that Shift 2 would put down Gran Turismo 5 just seems not going to happen. Because EA lacks the passion Kazunori Yamauchi has for cars. Enough said, for those who really like driving, you know what I'm saying and I guess you already have the game in hand.

Close to Perfection
I don't get it. It seems like every review site (besides gamerevolution) has been playing a different game than I have been playing. So far the biggest "flaw" they say, is that the game seems rehashed, or not new...but at the same time all the sites will give every Madden or Call of Duty a ridiculous score when the same can be said about those games. Anyway...I have put in about 30 hours of play time on GT5 and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite games of all time. The graphics are surreal, aside from the frequent pop in on select tracks (hence the 9/10 on graphics). The shadows are weird, but that is understandable considering the dynamic lighting. All the cars look fantastic and its hard to tell the difference between standard and premium in all honesty, aside from the cockpit view. As far as . ound goes, the cars and racing noise is phenomenal, but the music is a little bizarre. I have the Driving Force GT wheel and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who gets this game, check ebay for deals. It really adds to the experience and makes every car feel different. My only real disappointment is how tedious the menus are. BOTTOM LINE...GET THIS GAME. Especially if you have any interest in cars what so ever. You won't be disappointed.
