I liked the online MUCH more then i did the campaign. The online is a mix of Call of Duty and Battlefield. Theres helicopters, tanks, APC's, humvees, but what was really cool was you could deploy robots with machineguns and stuff. All and all, a fun online game.
A very good fps, especially on sale! 9/10
Homefront is a very good game in my opinion. The campaign seems to have a good storyline and truly depicts the horrors of war. It's a feeling you rarely ever get from games such as Call of duty. Although the gameplay isn't as fluid as CoD, it is still decent enough. The multiplayer, seems to be a mix or CS, CoD, bf and even a bit of MoH! CS because of the ingame currency, Call of duty because of the intensity of the firefights, Battlefield because of the big number of vehicles and drones available ingame that make the gameplay much more varied and Medal of Honor because the currency system somewhat resembles the point system in MoH (doing objectives, will allow you to get killstreaks and other cool stuff). I'd like to also add, that the mp seems very well balanced, nothing is broken or excessively overpowered. Truly, Homefront is yet another great Fps to check out
this game is good i definitely recommend it to a friend the only downfall of it was the campaign it was really short and the story didn't really make much sense to me.
A wicked take on the fps genre.
At first glance you would think that THQ tried to copy and paste Modern Warfare just to cash in a few dollars, but this is definitely not the case. Homefront provides the best of both words, a little of CoD, and a little of Battlefield. With excellent balance of weaponry, gadgets, drones, and perks, you get the sense THQ took care in developing this game.
I would definitely recommend this game to anyone looking for a great multiplayer game. The single player campaign, while good, is short and that definitely disappoints as its pacing was excellent throughout and it had a good enough storyline for this overflooded FPS genre.
Single player has the attention here...
If you are looking for multiplayer with this game, big no, you're not going to get anywhere with that. The servers lag, guns are much too accurate, and while what they made was a good IDEA they didn't pull it through to actually be a good thing.
Singleplayer was gripping, you felt very involved in the intense firefights as most weren't scripted and you influenced a fair degree. At one point there is a baby crying in your right ear while the whole house is getting lit up by two vehicle mounted guns and tons of soldiers. It's the moments like those that make the singleplayer worth checking out.
Personally, if you want to buy, check it out at a videostore for rent first before buying it. See if it meets your liking, and how patient you are with bad servers and never getting in groups with your friends...
Meh...Just a generic FPS experience.
I kind of had high hopes for this game, but after playing it, it had not lived up to my expectations. While being a solid game at its core, it has some major flaws. The single player is PAINFULLY short, I cleared it in about 6 hours and it isn't really all that story oriented although it had HUGE potential for story. The weapon selection is pretty much all american weapons (m4, m16, intervention, shortened m4 smg, etc. and I only saw 1 AK type weapon) so theres really not that much variety in weapons in my opinion, but that's just me. Multiplayer is again, just a generic FPS type multiplayer, aswell as it is is rather hard to find a match with enough players, and although looking pretty it seems to be lacking in some ways. Overall its an OK game, but because of the huge ignoring of the potential of this game, I'd only be willing to pay maybe $30 for this game, tops. Go with someting like COD or Bad Company 2 if you want something quality.
really good game i was waiting to get it for a few weeks and i love it great for anyone who loves a first person shooter and a bit of real life drama overall best game in at least a year
Review for multiplayer only
Con: bad graphic's, hard to find matches with enough player's, dosen't have an intense feeling so it's boring, sometimes hard to find the enemy unlike cod, dosen't feel like smooth gameplay like cod, the map's ive played so far are pretty lame with no building's and obstacles mostly little houses and a long field, no creative attachment's for weapon's like: shot guns, grenade launchers, everyone's secondary is the exact same pistol. Pro's: cool stuff to buy with battle point's, awsome selection of sight's and suppressor's for weapon's. to finish this review off this game is not a good FPS, if u want a large scale warfare get bad company 2 or if u want a more intense FPS get cod black ops or cod modernwarfare 2.
Just another FPS
overall the game was not a bad game. i do feel however that we are slowly moving away from the story aspect of gaming, the story in this game was yet another six parts i believe. not very long at all. the only thing i will say about the controls (same as every other FPS) is the fact that there was no lean button. i loved this part of MOH it made it feel more fluid not having to switch between standing and crouching all teh time instead you could peer around corners.and whats with the main character in games now getting blown up every two seconds...really we need to have that EVERY level. this game had a very good story i found a few references to red dawn (the sports team is called the wolverines). as for online when you could get into matches it was pretty fun i for some reason had a hard time findig a match with enough players to start. all in all it was a fun game i would recomend fans of FPS buy it but buy it soon so you can trade it in when another game comes out want more, the campain was pretty fun as short as it was. the online was decent it had enough to do i think to keep me occupied for a couple days. i just find that the online is generally the same thats why i like the campian because not all the stories are the same. can"t find it on site but i recomend Flashpoint: red river looks like it will be amazing
awesome game cant wait to play it i think it is a mix of cod and bfbc but the only thing is i dont no if it has attachments like cod. scale of 0 to ten i would rate it 8.9
