Call of Duty 3
CoD first game on Wii, 7.75/10 or 8/10
Call of duty 3 is the first installment of the Call of duty series on Nintendo Wii. Let us see how it stands compared to the previous games. Call of duty 3 on Wii is decent shooter, not bad and not great. It offers a solid experience with the campaign. Treyarch (this game being their first CoD) somewhat enhances that experience with many cinematics, although one might find them indeed quite annoying, as there is no way of skipping them. The storyline is good too, it's somewhat similar to the experience of the previous titles, which is a step above most other WW2 shooters. The campaign is ''split'' unto 4 parts/countries, which are: the Americans, the Canadians, the Polish and the British. As the American you play as a standard infantrymen, just like when your playing as Canadian. But when playing as Polish, you actually command a tank (more precisely a Sherman Firefly) in great tank battles and tight urban warfare, although there is a infantry firefight towards the end). And finally as British you take a role as Special operative (probably part of the SAS) behind the enemy lines working alongside the French resistance. 3 of these ''parts'' talk about trying to close the Falaise pocket where thousands of German soldiers were trapped afterwards, while the British part is somewhat separated. Though it seems this part picks up after the story of Call of duty: United offensive, since we see characters such as Major Ingram make a return. As for the multiplayer, it is quite sad to learn that there is indeed no online multiplayer whatsoever, but there is on the other platforms (PS3 for example), this is somewhat regrettable, but the campaign still delivers a solid performance. In the end, Call of duty 3 on Wii obviously isn't on par with the other platforms, either it be in the graphics or the lack of MP, but it is still a decent FPS game that Wii gamers will surely enjoy, but only really at a LOW price. It is an old game after all ( It's been like what, 4-5 years?).
