Arc Rise Fantasia
The voice acting really killed the game.
I personally love Jrpgs, I've played quite a few of them, and they are by far my favorite genre. I'm not that hardcore person that puts on japanese voices with english subtitles because they feel that the english voice acting doesn't to the game justice. Before I bought this game I would Always prefer English dubs over the Japanese voices with subtitles. However, this game has such bad voice acting you'd be screaming at developer "WHY DID YOU LET THIS PASS?". for example there's a girl that's constantly screaming at her servant to kill a character, and the servant and said character are talking about it as if they're having a jolly good time discussing movies or books, while having this violent exchange. The sad part is I'm not even exaggerating, I realize that I've been focusing too much on this, so I'll move on. The gameplay overall Is pretty standard for Jrpgs, It has some unique aspects that make the battle system really interesting, Such as magic sync between multiple characters using the same spell. Weapon upgrading, and your characters' magic capacities really make this game stand out. Although the voice acting makes it almost unbearable to pay attention to the story it's decent, not great, but fair enough. Now you might be thinking , "so what it's just voice acting who cares?". Thats what i thought too at the start of the game, but as it went on i eventually started hoping, praying even, that the voice acting would get slightly better than your average tone deaf person singing in the shower. The average person off the street would be a GREAT improvement compared to what they did in the game. Anyway as i kept playing, the hideous intonation, kept wearing me down until i just couldn't keep going.
Great, great game! One of the best RPGs out there!
I loved this game! I loved the gameplay, the graphics and I was attached to this game until I beat it! The only problem.. Was the voice acting! It wasnt the WORST but it wasnt the best either... But that wont compare to how great this game is! I recommend it to any RPG lover!
Foi Gras on Poo
Terrific combat mechanics, believable plot, likable graphics, decent soundtrack all RUINED by the terrible voice acting thanks to the localization team who refused to keep the original Japanese voices and songs that were tailored for the game. Both the combat voices and story voices are so bad that one would perfer to play the game without sound and not have to shove jagged rocks into their ears
This might be one of the best RPGS I have played.
This is a great RPG. This game is great for all ages. For anyone that loves RPGS, this is a great game.
