a incredibly amazing game. this game shows that There are still great JRPG's. This game is one of the best games i have ever played and possibly the best game on the wii. this game is over 150 hours long and it never slows down. it has a great soundtrack and great, expansive, beautiful landscapes. This game is a must buy for the wii.

Over Hyped Game
As many I anticipated this game immensely and even pre-ordered it. But when I started playing it the game didn't live up even closely to the lofty praise it has received from the gaming community. While the gameplay is fun it can feel like simple button mashing after awhile. The story is one of the biggest flaws of the game because its more so a Final fantasy VII rip-off with extremely dull characters. The drama will never invoke anything in you due to poor writing and the awful (hilariously bad) British voice acting. In all don't believe the hype and be very cautious on buying this game because after a couple of hours the game begins to feel like a drag.

Oh heavens! RPG gods have blessed us with this.
After numerous disappointments in terms of RPGs, or even just Wii games altogether, this has made my year. If you wonder why it's getting such high scores, it's because it IS THAT good. Now discontinued and will get rarer and rarer. Get your hands on this if you like RPGs. They have loads of well thought out features to make your life easier, while still keeping humongous quantities of things for you to do. Finally we get a game that allows you to explore a world as one should (with little to no use of "invisible walls"), with shortcuts for boring stuff allowing for a great gaming experience. Finally a game that took whatever people normally hate from such games and made it better. I never really cared for the looks of a game and I'm pretty happy with it. Being on the Wii (non-HD) probably hurt it and they had to deal with what they had. It's not great but not bad either, I just don't think people who are disappointed had realistic expectations for a Wii product. And the only other downside I could think of is that from this moment on, every other game will suck in comparison to this one. Other developers better step up their game.

Best RPG of the Generation
The world around the character is beautiful and detailed. The detail in the character models however is really bad. They're comparable to PS2 character models. But I guess the gameplay matters the most. The battle system is an entirely new and innovative addition. Gamers who want to play something new should definitely consider this. The world in Xenoblade Chronicles is big and expansive with many, many sidequests in addition to the main story, which adds a lot of lasting appeal to the game. The voice acting is great but not always on sync when the characters are talking. The soundtrack is superb but the song when you fight a unique enemy will likely stick in your head. It's that good. Overall this game is perfect for the hardcore gamer.

A JRPG Like No Other
Square Enix could learn a thing or two from Xenoblade Chronicles. We don't need dozens of hour long cutscenes. Give players an open MMO-styled world to explore. The graphics are amazing for a Wii game and the soundtrack is ear candy. Yasunori Mitsuda definitely outdid himself. The characters are a wonderful bunch, you'll grow attached to them almost instantly. If you enjoy Xenoblade, I also recommend The Last Story, which comes out July 10th for Wii and hopefully Pandora's Tower, if it ever comes out in North America. Fair warning: Xenoblade is a long game. The main quest, without the extra quests, is 60 hours long. To 100% the game, it can take 250, even 300 hours.

The Best RPG You've Never Heard Of...
Let me start off by saying this--buy this game. This is probably THE best JRPG I have ever played, and even some Western RPGs should be taking note of what is going on here.
The game plays like a more story-driven Phantasy Star Online, that is to say that you will be given light quests to fetch items, slay a set number of a certain monster, bring back specific treasures to interested parties and finding Boss versions of enemies in the field (kind of like in Diablo and Diablo II). That's for the sake of grinding and exploring this gorgeous world.
Did I mention that everyone lives on the bodies of two giant gods frozen in combat for eternity? Now I have your attention.
The storytelling here is epic, mixing sci-fi conventions like soulless automatons in a war against humanity and casting you as an unlikely hero, an unassuming engineer names Shulk. Within the first twenty minutes you have more depth than some games give you in hours and hours of gameplay.
And it only gets better the more you play it, especially when you factor in an AMAZINGLY intuitive combat system (real time with cool downs like your favorite MMO) that has an actual depth to its strategy (you have a three member party that you can assign to different attacks, defenses, buffs, etc.), and the Monado, a weapon that actually lets you see a glimpse into the future and change it in combat by altering your tactics.
One word-Wow.
People, go buy this game. Let Nintendo know that we need quality games like this on our systems. That is all.

Very nice that it is #1 Best Seller, Most Anticipated, In Wii Category and 3rd overall as best seller. This is a RPG that NTSC needed for a long time! Support this game and preorder it! If enough is sold we might also get 2 more Awesome RPGS! (The Last Story and Pandora's Tower)

Smart move
Smart move to, at last, bring this magnificent RPG to the west. I wonder how many people will buy it though as over 1 million in the west have already this game...After telling us that it wouldn't come here, many have found a way to get it anyway.
