Xbox 360 System with Wireless Controller - EB Games Refurbished
this review explains if its good or bad
OK so my dad bought this for me then i started playing it it was a 20 gb all xbox 360 arcades are all 20 gb so i only played it for a few days then i lost interest because it was boring because it doesnt come with a built in wi-fi so people have to go buy a internet cable or a wireless router for the system also its not that much of a big hit because some games are not for this system for example god of war 3 meanwhile i decided that i am going to get a ps3 160 gb and my parents agreed with me PS3 is wayyyyyyyyyyy better then this old xbox 360 one more reason is even if i got the internet id have to pay for it and you cant use play station network on a Microsoft item and i think PlayStation network is the best store for downloading movies,games,songs on your system so i do not reccomend this system if you do want a xbox 360 get the 250 gb elite because it has a built in wi-fi and more space
Good price if it works
My xbox arrived very quickly, only took about 1 - 2 days to ship. Fortunately I live in a condo where the security guard will sign for deliveries while you're out, so I grabbed it as soon as I got home. I tried out the unit and at first it worked straight out of the box, but things to note are that there is more than one type of xbox, and I dont mean Arcade, Elite, etc. What I mean is, the first xboxs did nto have an hdmi port, later models did include it as well as a different chipset (or something along those lines). The xbox I received was definitely one of the first models without the hdmi port. The 2nd issue is that the xbox died on the 3rd day. Gamestop does include a free 30 day warranty with the product so I fully expect it to be exchanged or refunded, but buyer beware. If it works, great! The likely of it working is fairly low and I would recommend the extended warranty since if it does on the 31st day you're out of luck.
HOW TO SAVE MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT AND MORE!!!!
Ill show you how to save money on this product. If you check the reviews, one of them says that to avoid problems with this console one must first buy an intercooler. Second, lets say you want an extra controller for when guests or friends come over. Well, you can buy a wired gamestop controller for 30$. It saves you money cause you dont need to buy anymore batteries for an extra controller. Third, we need a hard drive. You can buy a used 20 GB hard drive. And fourth the 139.99 used console. So here are the results:
INTERCOOLER = 5 $
SYSTEM WITH WIRELESS CONTROLLER= 140 $
20 GB HARD DRIVE = 20 $
CAMESTOP WIRED CONTROLLER = 30 $
TOTAL= AROUND 220$ WITH TAX!!!!!!!
Now lets say we only want one 4 GB slim Xbox 360 (new). Lets see the price of it alone =
XBOX 360 SLIM 4 GB= 200$
TOTAL= AROUND 220 $WITH TAX!!!!!!!
THE SAME PRICE FOR MORE!
There are flaws but that CAN be fixed
I got this xbox 360 a month ago and there are a few problems with it. The controller was very dirty and one of the thumb sticks would stick to the sides. I played GTA for about 2 hours and it started to over heat and freeze the game. I rebooted it and it froze twice more. I wasn't going to risk getting the red ring again, so I want out and pick up an inter cooler it was only $20 and it works perfectly now so it was worth the extra money. I HIGHLY recommend you pick up an inter-cooler to eliminate the risk of red ring. Other then that this system runs quite well.
ok but not good enough
good but when i bought it for my friend we opened it we set it up it made these loud sounds when we took it back to the store they gave us another one it had another promblem we turned it on it had th red ring of dead i recommend buying the newer version of the xbox360 arcade
Would never buy referb again
We bought this product for my son for Christmas. First you couldn't use the wifi then we received the rings of death. Tried to fix the unit and was told by xbox it ran out of warranty....NEVER EVER will I buy referb again....very disapointed.
ok this product when i bought it i enjoyed it but after 3 days of playing it it red ringed on me this product needs to be cheaper then it is i would recommend 119.99 not 129 this product should have more tan 2 year warranty
This is great
I love this xbox i have had it for about 2 years now i havent gotten any part of the red ring of death, the system is fast good quality. the only problem is on some new games you have to tip the xbox and smack it till the game works, I bought Modern Warfare 3 and i had to do that but the xbox eventually gets used to the game and plays normally. Overall i think this is a great system. I actually prefer this over the PS3.
The Xbox 360 is good but the red ring of death kills the system
It worked out of the box and still works.
I bought my Xbox 360 fat for $119 to $129 at the time. It was an amazing deal when I got it and I don't even think the slim was out at the time. Anyway I had no problems with it in terms of gaming and that working properly. I have never had issues with it reading disks. I did however have the following happen ....
1. had the tray get stuck at one point and it would not close but eventually it righted itself without me having to fix it (various Youtube videos on how to fix it if it happens to you)
2. at this point many years later the thing seems to be getting much louder but the Xbox 360 still works and was not expected to last forever without any maintenance like you do on a pc (wish it was as easy to deal with as a pc so I could reseat the HSF and add new thermal paste and maybe replace the loud fan)
3. white casing is getting marked up and looks much dirtier than it originally did and so buying a skin and more for it is on my list of things to do for the future and well I guess someone buy one brand new might want to buy skins right off the bat or look at other colored version if you can get your hands on them brand new or used at EB Games/Gamestop
I will admit there is a risk buying used and 30 days of warranty time isn't much but you know what you are getting yourself into when going this route. I hope it works out for others as it has worked out for me. I will say though at $149 I am not sure going used is worth it right now. Again I paid less.
Xbox 360 a great system for people who don't want a Wii as they are wanting more serious gaming but don't want to shell out big money for a PS3. I didn't get a PS3 until I found one new for $199.99 this year and it was a very basic model.
I guess a negative to the Xbox 360 is that it has no blu-ray player but really if you want one cheap (stand alone)you can get one cheap now and it will still be cheaper than the PS3 in many instances.
