Dont buy if you own any other nfs games
This game seemed great, but as soon as i put the game in my xbox problems started. The auto log server wouldn't connect, as i have played nfs hot pursuit on the same console!

Shift 2, Great but has its Flaws
I've been playing Shift 2 now for a little over 2 weeks. I've been a hardcore fan of racing games and have enjoyed every Need For Speed title.
Shift 2 feels more like an arcade game. The racing is real somewhat but after coming from Gran Turismo 5, their is a bunch that is wrong with the racing. But Shift 2 wasn't designed as a racing simulator.
Shift 1 was quite an exceptional game, it set the bar for the NFS series and got great reviews. Shift 2 improves on those reviews and fixes some of the flaws from the first game.
Shift 2 has plenty of races or events to keep you busy, except the game feels too easy for me. Im more of a hardcore gamer. Shift 2 races are easy, way to easy for me, and you can almost go through your entire career with one car, and just upgrading the whole time. This gets you stuck on a select number of cars and doesn't give you the best chance to experience every car in the game. They have a small selection compared to other games, but the ones that are put into the game have had their details worked on greatly!
Now, where Shift 2 goes downhill is the "Drifting" portion. The physics are totally messed up and are hard to get used to. I feel that drifting in Shift 1 was much more realistic. When doing drift competitions you have to be careful with the steering as you can lose control of you car REAL fast.
Other than the fact that the game can be really easy at times, and the drifting sucks, Shift 2 is a fun game. I would say its more for a casual gamer seeing that the more hardcore gamers will find it easy.
